History
of The Thompson Group

The Thompson
Group was evolved from a small personal lines agency
that was started by Wayne Thompson. Wayne started the
insurance business in February 1966. He decided to open
his own agency in February of 1973. Thompson Insurance
has been a long-standing, well-known part of Randolph
County. With Wayne’s direction and guidance, Thompson
Insurance was able to build themselves a name that stood
for quality and customer service in the insurance
industry. |
In September of 1990, Andy Thompson started working
along side his father at Thompson Insurance. He took the
opportunity to learn the workings of the agency, plus
took advantage of the mentoring his father was only too
happy to provide. In January 1996, Andy bought the
agency from his father—and continued to uphold the
stellar reputation of Thompson Insurance. He has guided
the agency to what it is today: a leader in the field of
commercial Insurance, now known as “The Thompson Group.”
He also kept the “foundation” that built the original
agency—the Personal Lines Division.
Today, The Thompson Group is thriving and shows
continued growth. Through all the changes and growing
pains of the last 40+ years, the original philosophy of
Wayne Thompson remains, and that is to provide
excellence in customer service: “1950’s Customer Service
combined with a 21st Century Attitude.” Andy Thompson
took the philosophy a step further with setting goals to
“find the pain, heal the pain, show the love” for all of
our clients and prospects. That mindset, combined with
TTG’s 4 cornerstones (Communication, Documentation,
Education, Follow Up) has resulted in The Thompson Group
as it exists today. |
